Why did Alex Roy get sacked from Drive?

Well, I kind of get the point, from the youtube comments, that very few actually liked him, which I really don't understand. I think he is over-dramatic in the best way possible, ironical. He likes cars, he is fun in front of a camera, and he is a bit of a person. I loved his Live and Let Drive series.

Do you agree? Or do you think is as annoying as the youtube commenters(bless their souls) think he is.

He was hit-and-miss with me. I'd never call him "annoying," but some segments were a bit too focused on him (instead of the cars) IMO.

Was there actually confirmation that he was sacked, or did they just "part ways?" I never read anything official on it.

He always rubbed me the wrong way... as does Matt Farah at times. I think it's the stupid jackets they wear with patches. Yeah, those patches.

He is/was way over the top, but I actually liked that, he's a.. a.. hmm.. personality? I bet he's a cool guy to hang out with.

I worked for a competing company to the one his father started, and he took over after his pops died. Having had numerous interactions with him, he isn't terribly likeable, but his passion for speed and cars certainly makes for good content. His father was a great dude though.

I will agree, but I find him funny so it really doesn't annoy me, when its about the cars I watch Chris Harris.

I don't think there were, but he didn't get the best of "reviews" from the viewers, even from the start, his series didn't do well

There comes a point in every man's life when they need to buy... a bar of soap. Which means you go down to the grocery store to buy some. Yet you are somewhat confused what to buy. The choice is... vast. And you want to get it right. You want to get it right, because you're - well - a man. And that means you have to make choices right, because no one else can take the responsibility away from you. And that translates to soap. The choice of the soap is not as easy as it seems. You know it, I know it. We could as well be called the 'soap generation'. Generation. Like the car that went from one age to another, evolved into something else. Like growing up. Which is defined by soap.

... and stuff like that, Not that I don't like a bit of rambling, but... well, you get the point.

I agree entirely. "Live and Let Drive" was my favorite part of Drive, when I heard it was cancelled I couldn't see it being true. Hopefully they bring him back here and there to do occasional random episodes. That way they can give the episodes to those who want it, and won't overdo the videos for those who don't.

Ideally, it would be cool to see him with Roadkill. Their personalities might go well together.

Most people can palate as much insightful and pleasant conversation as they can get. They can only stomach so much snark and irony before it makes them sick. I liked the guy in moderation, but his segments went for too long and focused too much on him.

Sorry, but I found his comedy and the Live and Let Drive segments a snooze fest. I never watched them. The show didn't really seem about cars, it seemed about him, and I never found him very endearing or likeable.

I think it was because he didn't seem like a car guy, he dressed like a guy who got a 3-series off Craigslist and then though he was a millionaire. The thing I disliked most was the fact he always made it about him and he always had a fully biased opinion.

I liked him just fine. Very over the top personality, but it always struck me as genuine.
